Sci Fi Channel's a Bust

So I have plenty of thoughts and opinions on television, and I thought I'd start sharing them. Especially since it's almost time for the Fall TV season to start. Right now, my major annoyance is the news that the Sci Fi Channel, in its ultimate un-wisdom, will be splitting up the final season of Battlestar Galactica into two seasons in an attempt to make more money off it. Typical.

But then, I don't think the Sci Fi Channel has made a reasonable decision since Universal NBC took it over, how many years ago? Of course, some of my bitterness goes back to the Farscape cancellation (and now they're trying to capitalize on that by bringing it back in an insulting fashion). I know, what do I expect from a supposedly sci fi channel that shows wrestling? During prime time?

So I guess I'll get my sci fi fix from the other networks this fall. There's certainly plenty of shows out there, on plenty of other channels. I've seen the pilot for The Bionic Woman - it has possibilities, although watching it was like going to a sci fi convention; I knew practically every actor from some other sci fi series. I'm excited about The Chronicles of Sarah Connor, although I need to remember it won't be airing till January. The pilot was good, and believable within the Terminator universe. I keep meaning to watch the Pushing Daisies pilot; the plot just doesn't quite appeal to me, although I hear it's good. Heroes is coming back, Lost not until February, and there's several other shows besides. Sci fi is really hitting the mainstream now.

So let's focus on the positive and ignore the Sci Fi Channel. Other than Eureka, there's not a show on there worth discussing right now anyway.

Ciao,

Jill
